Prayer: The Lord is our Shepherd and let us follow him. Let us heed his voice and answer when he calls. Thank you for your protection and guidance. Amen.
Reading: Jeremiah 23:1-6 (Click to read text) Stop and GROW: After reading the text, discuss/ponder the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's Book of Faith questions, which are part of Camp Mount Luther's GROW Time with campers. QUESTION 1: What scares, confuses, challenges, or doesn’t make sense to me in this text? QUESTION 2: What delights me in this text or is my favorite part of the story? QUESTION 3: What stories or memories does this text stir in me? QUESTION 4: What is God up to in this text? Reflection: In these verses Jeremiah is talking about the exiles and them being brought back together with good shepherds. The prophet also fore-shadows the coming of Christ who is known as the Good Shepherd. I have never had to tend to sheep, but I have had to tend to children. As I shepherd them I hope to keep them safe and out of harm’s way. If they need to be fed I can feed them. I can lead them in activities that train them ways to live a Godly life. I hope all children
