Prayer: Dear God, on the darkest days when I feel inadequate, unloved and unworthy, I remember whose child I am and I straighten my crown. Amen
Reading: Isaiah 62: 1-5 (Click to read text) Stop and GROW: After reading the text, discuss/ponder the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's Book of Faith questions, which are part of Camp Mount Luther's GROW Time with campers. QUESTION 1: What scares, confuses, challenges, or doesn’t make sense to me in this text? QUESTION 2: What delights me in this text or is my favorite part of the story? QUESTION 3: What stories or memories does this text stir in me? QUESTION 4: What is God up to in this text? Reflection: The prayer above is something I came across and just loved the image and feeling it brought to me. Some days are rough and we just don't feel all that great about ourselves. It is good then to know as Isaiah told, "You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD..." (Isaiah 62: 3) Next time you are feeling down about yourself, remember whose child you are and straighten your crown. It's there. -- Ruth Gates
