QUESTION 1: What scares, confuses, challenges, or doesn’t make sense to me in this text? QUESTION 2: What delights me in this text or is my favorite part of the story? QUESTION 3: What stories or memories does this text stir in me? QUESTION 4: What is God up to in this text? Reflection: I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we often focus on two different “churches.” Church as the institution which we try to preserve through buildings and tradition; and Church as the Body of Christ. In this passage, Jesus is talking about the Body of Christ. He reminds us that just as God is in Him, and He is in the Father, we, too, are also part of the body. I think if we focused more on being the Body of Christ and less on the institutions and traditions, we could be more of what God might be calling us to be. --Chad Hershberger
