Discussion:
Reading: I Corinthians 8: 1-3 Reflection: Before I was a camp director, I was in the communications field, working in public relations and radio news. I've always had the desire to be in the know. I've had a strong feeling that I needed to be totally informed of everything so that I could do my jobs correctly. I always liked the quote from a movie that said, "I'm on a need to know basis and evidently, I didn't need to know." Sometimes I have to remind myself of that when I feel the thirst to know everything that is going on. God tells us that knowledge puffs us up. God also says that love BUILDS us up. Wouldn't you rather be built up than puffed up? If you are built up, you have a stronger foundation and you will last longer. Puffiness only lasts a short time. If we love God, we are known by God. That should be all the knowledge we need to know. Don't get caught up with wanting too much information. Instead, change that attitude to an attitude of love. I bet it will make a difference. --Chad Hershberger, Camp Mount Luther Director Closing: Pray that you will be appeased with the knowledge you need to know and that God will build you up with love.
