Reflection: It’s November and Advent is approaching. But before we get to the annual season of preparation for Christ’s birth, our lectionary readings take us to the end times. This is the time of year that we read in the Bible after what will happen when the world ends.
Jesus gives us some insight into that in this passage. The disciples want to know more. “Can you be more specific?” they might have asked. They were curious. And so am I.
But, I think it is better to focus on the positive and the present. Where do you see God today? How can you make the world a better place now? If we get so wrapped up in what will happen in the end, we may miss the beauty of this day. Know that God will take care of us. And enjoy today what God has given us. –Chad Hershberger, Camp Mount Luther Director
