Reading: Exodus 20: 1-4, 7-9, 12-20 (Click to read text)
Reflection: I am a substitute teacher mostly in elementary schools. Every day is different. Every teacher, student, class and school are different. One thing that is the same is there are always rules. So, whenever I come into a classroom, I look for the rules posted somewhere and make sure I know them before the children arrive. For the most part, the rules are basically the same just worded differently. Bottom line - Be respectful of the school and teachers. Treat others with kindness. Do your best. And it is a great day at school!
Our reading today reminds us of the Ten Commandments God spoke to Moses. A list of rules for the Israelites. The first few commandments focus on our relationship with God while the rest deal with our relationships with others. Bottom line - Love God. Love others. And it is a faithful day in God's grace.
