Prayer: Be pleased, O God, to deliver me. O Lord, make haste to help me! You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay! (Psalm 70: 1, 5b)
Reading: Psalm 70 (Click to read text) Stop and GROW: After reading the text, discuss/ponder the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's Book of Faith questions, which are part of Camp Mount Luther's GROW Time with campers. QUESTION 1: What scares, confuses, challenges, or doesn’t make sense to me in this text? QUESTION 2: What delights me in this text or is my favorite part of the story? QUESTION 3: What stories or memories does this text stir in me? QUESTION 4: What is God up to in this text? Reflection: Psalm 70 is a prayer for help. Help. I really don’t have much more to say about that. I need help. We all need help. So we pray. Then what do we do. I have heard another prayer that goes something like this: Lord, lead me to the ones I need; and to the one who is needing me. Amen We all need help. We all need each other. Do not delay. --Ruth Gates
