Reading: Romans 3: 20
Nearly everyone has broken the law at some point in their lives. Most of the laws we break are trivial like going a few miles per hour over the speed limit. But, other laws we break may be more severe.
In this passage, we are told that God does not accept us just because we simply obey the law. All the law does is point out our sin. What we have to do is believe in God and we will be freed from our sins. It is not our good deeds or the low severity that we break a law that puts us in favor with God. God loves us for who we are—not for what we do.
We should obey laws and try to be a good citizen. But it is more important that we believe in God and Jesus Christ. –Chad Hershberger, Camp Mount Luther Director
