Prayer: You are with us in our waiting, God. Help us to see the good in waiting. Amen.
Reading: 2 Peter 3: 8-15a (Click to read text) Stop and GROW: After reading the text, discuss/ponder the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's Book of Faith questions, which are part of Camp Mount Luther's GROW Time with campers. QUESTION 1: What scares, confuses, challenges, or doesn’t make sense to me in this text? QUESTION 2: What delights me in this text or is my favorite part of the story? QUESTION 3: What stories or memories does this text stir in me? QUESTION 4: What is God up to in this text? Reflection: We are now in the season of Advent. We are waiting. We are waiting for Baby Jesus to come. We are waiting for the second coming. We are looking for Jesus in our every day lives. We are waiting. It’s hard to wait. It’s hard to have patience. But this season teaches us that good things come to those who wait. And frankly, often the anticipation is even greater than the event itself. Wait with me. Jesus will be here. --Chad Hershberger
