Today, we look at a Day 1 text from this year’s summer curriculum, “Boundless: God Beyond Measure.”
Reading He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him. He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross. (Colossians 1- 15-20) Reflection This passage is reminiscent of our passage last Friday from the beginning of John’s gospel. It reminds us that God is everything- the beginning, the end, the whole kit and kaboodle. This summer, our campers will be looking at how God is boundless. And on Monday, we’ll look at God’s goodness, which is also boundless. I’m sure that it might be a difficult concept for campers to realize that God’s goodness is so big. But it is. I encourage you to look for all the good that you see God is in the midst of in your life. –Chad Hershberger Prayer Help us to see your goodness, Lord, and know that is boundless. Amen.
