Prayer: Help me to be confident in you, Lord. Amen.
Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:6-10 (Click to read text) Stop and GROW: After reading the text, discuss/ponder the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's Book of Faith questions, which are part of Camp Mount Luther's GROW Time with campers. QUESTION 1: What scares, confuses, challenges, or doesn’t make sense to me in this text? QUESTION 2: What delights me in this text or is my favorite part of the story?\ QUESTION 3: What stories or memories does this text stir in me? QUESTION 4: What is God up to in this text? Reflection: I am struck by the idea of confidence. We are always confident. What makes me confident? I have pretty good health. I have some savings. I have a great marriage. I do things that make a difference. The world, with all its struggles, is still a good place. What would you add? All that will one day disappear—just go away and be no more. Then what? We are still confident because there is the Lord. He will not be taken away. We walk be faith. Not by the things we see now. Walk faithfully today, my friends. --Jim Bricker, Chaplain to Camp Mount Luther’s Summer Staff
