Reflection: Reading our text for today, the word Selah at the end of verse 15 caught my eye. It's a word that often comes up in the Psalms and I've always wondered what it meant. The Amplified Bible translates Selah as "pause, and think of that." What a good idea! Pause in the middle of reading something and just think of that.
Let's go back to our reading and Selah a bit. Psalm 66: 8-15 talks of blessings and praise, of God keeping our feet from slipping, of being tested, tried and brought out into a spacious place, of offerings and vows. That is a lot to think about if you stop and take the time.
Then continue on through verse 20 and perhaps you too will tell of what God has done for you; God who hears our prayers and whose love is steadfast. --Ruth Gates
